Baptism Through Baptism, we become Children of God and members of the household of faith. Children should be baptized in the faith community to which their parents belong, that is, the parish in which they are registered and active members. Parents and Godparents are expected to attend the Pre-Baptismal instruction. Godparents must be practicing Catholics who have been baptized and confirmed. Please call the Rectory (973-226-0221) to arrange for your child's baptism and to register for classes. Infant Baptisms are done every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 1:30 pm, except during Lent. No Baptisms are performed during the Season of Lent.
Eucharist Eucharistic Liturgies are celebrated seven days a week at St. Aloysius. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Mondays from 12:30 pm until 7:30 pm.
Reconciliation The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance) is celebrated on Saturdays: 1:00 to 2:00pm and after the 5:30 Mass or by appointment.
Anointing of the Sick Those who are of advanced age, seriously ill or homebound are asked to contact the Rectory (973-226-0221). Urgent calls will be attended to at any time. Communal celebrations of the Anointing of the Sick will be held twice yearly.
Marriage Church law requires that a wedding should take place in the parish to which either the bride or groom belong. The Bishops of the State of New Jersey urge that preparation for marriage begin a year in advance of the wedding. Call the rectory (973-226-0221) to get information on how to sign up through the Archdiocese or visit http://www.rcan.org/famlife/
RCIA This is a process by which staff members and committed parishioners meet weekly with persons who wish to enter the Catholic Church or complete the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. Both candidates and parishioners journey together through the process.
