During the Second Vatican Council, the Vatican recommended that Bishops encourage the involvement and participation of the laity so they might play an active role in the life of the Church. Our Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) does not function in an administrative or finance role but rather as a mission-focused team helping to maintain the vibrancy of our Church through communication. The PPC will essentially act as additional eyes and ears of St. Aloysius Parish. Our goals will be communicated frequently and we will work in a collaborative effort with the parishioners and Parish staff to lead St. Aloysius into the future, furthering the mission of Christ.
Possible PPC activities may include:
· Seek out the needs and concerns of our fine parish
· Re-introduce & promote our current parish ministries
· Create possible “new” ministries
· Encourage parish member participation and pastoral activity
· Collect and recommend survey findings and ideas to the Pastor and staff for implementation
Currently the PPC is involved in overseeing the implementation (and updating as needed) of our Pastoral Plan.
